MG MG Farina Magnette - Farina value?
|

| I have a line on a 1959 Farina Magnette, that at one point was fairly nice. The ravages of time and rodents have taken their toll, although the car has been stored indoors. NO title available. Would like to make an offer. I would love your input on what you think it is worth. It is in the USA. Thank you Pete

| The body looks tidy. Far better than a lot in the uk. The seats etc are hard to get second hand over here but good ones turn up every now and then. NTG services in the uk can sell you any parts you may need. Ive no idea what is worth in the US. |

| Very nice early Farina. Only one picture of the outside, but that body looks very solid. I'm curious how good it looks washed. If a little soap and water makes the outside presentable, then I'd say this is a $3,000 car. If you have to get it painted to look presentable (not show) then its about a $1,000-$2,000 car. Assuming decent paint under that dirt, blow a grand getting it running and maybe $1-2k on the interior and you'll have a nice $5-$9k car. You'll obviously have to get new seats and carpet, but the faded door panels and other vinyl parts can be sprayed at home to look like the right color again. If/When you get the new seats you can just send a sample to the folks at http://www.leatherique.com They make a nice vinyl dye to match. Overall all the interior can really be spruced up for less than $2k. NTG makes new boards that the old door vinyl can be stapled on to if the old boards are rotten. -John |

| Thanks john, I sure hope to get it for far less than the $3000. you mentioned. I check it out in 2 weeks, I'll keep you posted. It looks like it was quite a nice car at one point in time. Thanks Pete |
